WOW

I go away for the weekend with my family and come home to chaos- I actually went on a spiritual retreat with my church and realized that i abuse the computer- even lately when ihave not been on much. I finished up several longies this weekend including autumn dessert and 2 more mateo but now after recieving several messages have decided to refund everyone waiting- Kate i have some yarn just like yours i will send to you and i will keep the longes for my son so you can have your knitting fee. I will not be online much because well there are more important things in life. I am not and have never been a scammer but people tend to think they know me because of one bad time in my life. I have enough CDs to last us through potty training and have decided that the CD community is not the place for me- if you need me please email me at momtophr@aol.com again that is momtophr@aol.com just so everyone gets it. Refunds have already been sent :)

As you can see i have ALOT working lol!! I am doing my best to get everything out ASAP. My life has become alot more hectic and so knitting time has been scarce :( I am running on about 3-4 week from cast-on turnaround right now. I am closed for new orders and will remain closed for sometime once these are all done :) I have to put my family and my new job as a priority which means not as much ME time. However I am very blessed to be working for my church which is fun and rewarding as well as helps make ends meet around here while Michael finishes school :)

On a positive note we were very lucky this week. We went to bed Wednesday night expecting Tropical Storm Humberto to bring rain and storms that night but woke up at 3am to a series of crazy events we later learned was weathering Hurricane Humberto. It was the fastest developing hurricane on record- CRAZY!! This left us without power for the better part of a day and many other families are still without power.

Dashing Dachs Nautical Bloom longies

I finished these up last week and wow I am in love!! The stallion merino was a dream to work with :) and the colors are just amazing- the pic definentely does not do them justice.

Update :)

Well at the moment i am waiting on several things lol I will be knitting up the sushi pants this week :) and finishing up the applique shirt if the black shirt i ordered a zillion years ago ever comes in!! I actually started a new project tonight- my first journey into non diaper knitting!! I am knitting a pair of socks for me out of elliebellys TReasure colorway on superwash merino - so far so good- not that I have gotten far!! LOL

Finished this yesterday just hadnt had a chance to post pics! I love it :) For a very sweet mama.

There is an update on the customs :) I actually have found 2 new jobs lol. I am going to be doing several things at my church that I couldnt be more excited about. I will be teaching preschool 2 days a week- Tuesday and Thursdays from 9-2 starting at the end of this month.

I was a teacher before I had kids so I am very excited about this. I will be teaching 4 year old pre-k and all 3 of my boys will be able to participate in the program so I feel like this is a huge blessing. I am glad to be able to make a contribution to my family by working a little - without having to leave my boys everyday ;)
I have also been asked to serve as secretary for our church Awanas program. The bottom line is my life is about to get really busy. I will be only taking a few customs each month depending on my time :) I will not be stocking anymore custom slots until i get this list done :)

Mini stocking tomorrow

Still trudging away on the tree of life longies. I am doing a small stocking tomorrow - embroidered items and dyed yarn :)

Nighttime shorties finished :)

Finished up the nighttime shorties!! Here are pics and a few yarns i dyed. The top one is a Gig Em color for my aggie loving husband!! It will be for a nighttime soaker for my son. I tell you i am in love with this bulky BFL it is SO SOFT!! The other is a red, blue and brown unnamed as of yet colorway!! LOL

The trim for the tree of life yarn is almost done drying so i will cast on those tomorrow :) I plan to finish those and teh ireland within the next week .

Aran BFL is here!!

Got my aran BFL yesterday so am about to go dye up trim for the tree of life longies:) I should finish the nighttime shorties for Sheri today or tomorrow and should get the ireland shorties and tree of life longies done this week:)

will post pics of the nighttime shorties when they are done- this bulky BFL is so yummy to work with :)

Something that will be stocking in August

here is a pic that i took this morning- this is a newborn set that will be stocking in august- makes me wish i had a girl :) i will be working on it and several other things in and around my customs list- I am a self proclaimed ADD knitter- must have several things going at once :)

Finished these late last night- measurements are 19" rise, 23" hip and 4.5" inseam :) they are being washed now and will be on their way to their new home. I will be dyeing yarn today and hopefully will be casting on to a new project tonight :)

Tomboy shorties done :)

Finished the tomboy shorties in the wee hours of hte night. These are for my own son who will turn one tomorrow :) Here is a pic and one with the shirts i made him to match. I had to squeeze him onto the list so he could get a little birthday loving :)

Life has been crazy here and I am trying to get a ton done before next weeks first stocking- so here is my current list :)

Things accomplished today

Well today has not been a stellar day. Sick baby and I am not feeling so great myself. I got a pretty decent start on a pair of shorties in Selahs Hidden Lake colorway. They will be stocked in the store for the Grand Opening!!

I dyed some brown trim yarn to go with the blueberry patch yarn (above) for a custom pair of shorties that is next on my list. As soon as it is done drying I will be knitting those and getting them on their way to their new home :)

The purewool shorties for mr. Brighton and his mommy Katie will be shipping out tomorrow - as they are finally dry :)

Once I finish these two projects i have going I am going to knit up a couple of soakers using a new pattern I found. We shall see how that goes- a new adventure! LOL

Here they are!! They are done :) Just finished washing and now they are drying. Excuse the bad pic - it has poured here all day so no pretty outside pictures :(

Can't wait to see pics of them on him. They will ship out as soon as they are dry. :)

Shorties for Brighton

These are my current project for a customers son Brighton :) They are 3 ply purewool dyed by Better bums :) The colorway is called lake eerie and they it is really pretty. This is a side view of the shorts on the needles so you can see the short rows in the coloring :)

These should be finished within a day or so and after washing on their way to their new home :) I will update with pics when i finish :)

What I have been working on recently

Here is a little catch up to let everyone know what i have been up to.

I tried my hand at hand-dyeing yarns. While I did have fun and end up with some cool colored hands :) I am not sure it is something i will do all the time but more just when the mood strikes me. I definentely bow down to some of the awesome dyeing WAHMs out there

I have also been busy knitting away.
I finished a pair of shorts this week for a friend of mine Mary's son Eli. The colorway is beautiful it is Oregon sky dyed by my friend Lindsay at www.hyenacart.com/kybabyknits She does beautiful work.
I dyed the trim to match and was very pleased overall with how they turned out. I made these and 2 other pair I am working on for testers for my pattern i have created.


Once they test them out I will be making up some things to stock in my store along with some embroidered surprises :)
